History: previous owner bought bike in 94,with 11k miles, changed engine at 14k miles, put 6k miles on it, now at 20k miles. it sat outside for 3 yrs untouched after they couldnt start it in 97'. right side battery covr is missing, most of the plastics are cracked. paid $1000. clean title.

This is what its supposed to look like:

Progress:

5/15/05 Bike is all together, insured, registered, and ready to roll!!! wont be able to post in a whi;e cause im riding!

4/17/05 everything fits nicely, but need some touch ups Bike needed new tires, signals, battery, air cleaner, throttle. i added clock, lights, 12v extention . be bac after pesach in miami!!!

4/16/05 Mounted all plastics and need to road test it all.. also mounted a centerstand
4/15/05 Got it all sanded, glued, epoxied, glued and ready yo be mounted...

3/25/05 I got all the plastics off....sanded down all the areas that needed to be fixed for better absorbtion, and took off any dirt...used some painters tape to cover the cracks on the outside of the plastics and filled the crack with this special stuff. next step is to reinforce them, and paint!

3/15/05
i put the airbox on, with the air filter (which i put oil on) and the bike seemed to like it. i think bec it had more pressure...got the bike to idle at 1200+/- 100 rpm
now its time to put toghether, the plastics! i got a dremel from a friend and preped the platics more detail next post

2/23/05
now that i know engine works and bike goes on the road, i can get parts that i needed. air filter, tires, brake pads, battery and some paint

2/12/05
now that enging works, i can check everything else. brakes, fluids, plastics...
the plasics had a lot of cracks...bot nothing major. fluids we ok, but i changed all of em, engine oil, brake rear/front, engine coolant, clutch fluid...

2/05/05
took vfr for a test ride down the block....WOW! i love it! keep in mind the rear brake was off, no ghs, no plastic....ahhh stupidty!!!

1/29/05
after trying for a while, finally, it runs!!!! full choke, no air box, no filter...but if choke is closed, the engine stops. but who cares!!!

1/21/05
got the new carbs...nice and clean. and the rods spins beautifuly!!
had to pop them back into the engine, which took a while. as a side note, it was 20 degrees in NYC for a week....tried to start the engine...but not yet

1/01/05
after much fussing, i removed the carbs...not so easy! and figured out that one of the rods that need to spin, is stuck, and after a weeks worth of trying, i went on ebay and got a set of carbs...and it was a deal i might add.

12/03/04 after letting cleaner sit for a few days i attempted to get the engine to turn, nada. after much disscussion, i consulted with craigslist to ask for help. best idea was to open alternator cover and manually turn motor...and it worked!!!! YAY!!!

11/28/04 got bike to house with help of friend and removed all plastics and farings
11/29/04 friend came over to help try start motor - no luck filled up engine with carb cleaner

This is how the bike looked when i picked it up..not pretty, but who knows.
